August 30 – Self-Serve Advertiser Store

By using freely-available shopping-cart software (Zen Cart), we have created an rTag store that allows for advertisers to purchase ad-placement in rTag and for players to pick up some rTag gear.  With just over 860 players, rTag generates over 3000 impressions a day.  These impressions are in the form of alerts that the rTag Game [...]

August 29 – rTag Player Regroup

From all sides, I have heard allot of talk about the sophistication of today’s investors and how I need to have a solid financial model to go along with the players we are gaining during this player drive. An important part of every model will be the player marketing and projections. This player drive blog [...]

August 28 – rTag Mobile Game Challenges

On Facebook, certain players have been talking about challenges and how they are unhappy with the current set of challenges.
rTag Challenge List
This brought up an on-going conversation at rTag, how long should challenges run? And how do we keep players interested in challenges they create with the waiting period created by the queuing system?

August 27 – rTag JavaME App Passed by Sony

More good news.  Sony-Ericsson has passed our application for publishing on their store. We are going to prepare for the launch with a new client, but the fact that the current one passed is a great step.  This is the second store that we have been approved for and I am hoping that this will [...]

August 26 – Better Intro Message

A friend of mine has been building and selling gaming companies for almost 20 years. He has pitched 150 plus times for money and ran seminars on building investable companies. He looked into rTag and his first impression of the site was that the homepage left him with no idea as to what rTag actually [...]

August 25 – Newsletter

We sent out a newsletter and we will see if it causes a spike in traffic. One challenge is to harvest more visits from the users we have.

August 24 – More Apps?

I know we need an e-mail blast, but what about the FB app and invite push…worth it?
At this point, we should focus on the WAP experience. We need to identify ways to drive WAP traffic.

August 23 – Players Invite Subsystem

We are getting a nice stream of players and a good amount are staying around for at least 10 rTags. We need to get these people to invite other people. So we need to create a invite system for the current season.
Player Count: 772

August 22 – LaWebMo

Today was the big LAWebMo Pitch meeting. I think it is safe to say it was an unqualified success. Not much was done towards player acquisition because of the meeting. I do know that 2-5 people registered during the meeting. The next initiative should be player inviting to earn points.
Player Count: 750

August 21 – Nokia Ovi Store

We received word today that the Nokia Ovi store will be adding us to its games section. I believe they are adding a ton of games to the store to compete with Apple’s app store. We will not be charging for rTag so this should increase player count significantly.
